After the prayer, I read the reports until half past seven. Mr. Ahmad Agha and Mr. [Ayatollah] Khamenei came to coordinate the issues that were to be brought up in the service of the Imam. At eight o'clock we reached the Imam's service. They are fine.

They talked about King Fahd's proposal to stop the war for a week in order to give Iraqi soldiers time to go to Baghdad and overthrow Saddam. They agreed to pursue the matter so that their plan and purpose would be clarified, and if they were serious, they considered it possible to take a one-week holiday - which is not called a ceasefire. There was a discussion about hitting a sea-to-shore missile at the port of Kuwait; Mr. [Ayatollah] Khamenei disagreed and the Imam did not agree either.

They talked about the issue of Seyyed Mehdi Hashemi and their secret center - which was discovered recently. Imam's opinion is that they should be chased and Mr. Montazeri should be told not to interfere and the movements should be taken away from them. We said that the prosecution of the case may lead to people close to Beit Ayatollah Montazeri. We suggested to be short, but the imam insisted, and it was agreed that they should tell the matter to Ayatollah Montazeri themselves.

At ten in the morning, I went to Shahid Motahari school. A large number of clerics were present. I gave them a detailed lecture about the war and the necessity of clerics participating in the fronts. I reached the parliament at noon.

In the evening, Mr. Colonel Jalali and Kangerlu visited for issues of military purchases. They reported that Iraq attacked two sugar factories in Khuzestan and killed 27 people and injured more than 100 people. It was decided to bombard Basra as retaliation. I stayed the night in the parliament.
