Before noon, I studied and worked at home, and around noon I went to the parliament. A number of representatives came to discuss matters concerning their constituencies. Some who had gone to the fronts also gave reports on the fronts and their needs. In the afternoon, I had several meetings.
At night, a meeting of the Combatant Clergy was held in my office. Discussions were held regarding the Assembly of Experts and the candidates. The list of the Qom seminary teachers was read out, which we also approved, and the candidates for Tehran had been left to the Tehran Combatant Clergy, so we also held a vote and selected twelve people. I was a guest of the parliament for dinner. I stayed at the parliament that night. Dr. [Mohammad Ali] Hadi [Najafabadi] came and recommended the need for flexibility in foreign policy to expand relations with industrialized countries.
