I went to the parliament early in the morning and read the reports. Around eight in the morning, the session began. Before it started, I exchanged greetings with the representatives. Before the agenda, I spoke on the occasion of the beginning of the parliament's work after the summer recess and the missile strikes on Dezful and Andimeshk. We passed several bills. During the recess, as usual, the representatives had visitors. At noon, two people came on the introduction of Mr. Faqihi and had proposals regarding the sale of the weapons we needed. I sent them to the Ministry of Defense. Someone came on behalf of Mr. [Seyyed Kazem] Marashi and claimed to have found a treasure in Rudehen. I spoke with Mr. [Mohammad-Ali Najafi], Minister of Culture [and Higher Education], and asked him to investigate the matter. We have had many such visitors since the Revolution, and they have usually been untruthful.

Mr. [Asadollah] Bayat came, and we talked about the upcoming elections, the differences between the two economic schools of thought, the harms of conflicts, and the solution. In the afternoon, one of the Revolutionary Guards, who was heading to the front with a group of the parliament's guards, came to say goodbye.

At the Central Council of the Party [Islamic Republic], there was a discussion about appointing the new ministers. We had the report from the Gilan branch of the Party [Islamic Republic] and their disagreements with the Friday prayer leaders. Decisions were made, including appointing a sensible cleric to head the Gilan branch of the Party [Islamic Republic]. At night, there was a meeting of the Party's Arbitration Council. The dispute between the bazaar merchants and the prime minister and the issue of the trial of the board of directors of the Carpet Company were discussed. The way to resolve the matter is for both sides to stop attacking each other. We had dinner at the office of [Ayatollah] Mr. Khamenei and came home late at night.
