Memoirs of Akbar Hashemi – November 9, 1987

At half past seven in the morning, the heads of other forces came to the office to prepare to participate in the seminar. At a quarter past eight, we went to the parliament hall and the Labik seminar with the imam started. The hall was full. The government delegation, the judicial council and the guardian council, military commanders, Friday imams and representatives of the parliament of experts were present. Ayatollah Khamenei had a short speech and then I gave a detailed speech about the war and the program and objectives of the seminar. Then, Mr. Afshar explained the approvals of the Supreme War Support Council and breathing was announced. I had many references in breathing. I was in my office until three o'clock in the afternoon and rested.

At three o'clock Mr. Khamenei and Mr. Mousavi Ardabili came to prepare and manage the meeting. We went to the meeting at half past three. The meeting was officially chaired by Mr. Khamenei and Mr. Mohsen Rezaei gave explanations. Then I answered the questions until the prayer time and some after the prayer. Then Mr. Mousavi Ardabili and the Prime Minister answered the questions related to themselves. Mr. Khamenei concluded. Mr. Taheri Esfahani and Haeri Shirazi had also spoken before.

I came to my office at eight in the evening. I did things and listened to the news. The members of the seminar are guests of the parliament for lunch and dinner. I went home. Fazeh said that her mother had operated on the mucosa.
