We discussed the issues of the army, the IRGC, the government, the future presidency, and weapons purchases. Mr. [Mohammed Javad] Larijani came and reported the results of negotiations with [Hans Dietrich Genscher] the [West] German Foreign Minister. In the evening, Dr. Velayati and our ambassador came to [West] Germany. Before meeting with Ganshar, they gave explanations and Mr. [Syed Hossein] Mousaviyan came in the afternoon for this purpose.

I met with the German foreign minister. In addition to the development of relations, American hostages and the acceptance of human rights representatives were discussed. It was a good meeting. Then press and radio television interviews were conducted with domestic and foreign journalists, and after that I conducted a short exclusive interview with Austrian television. I did office work. I went to the meeting of the Expediency Council. A part of the government punishment law was approved. I came home late.
