By nine o'clock in the morning, the backlog was completed. Dr. [Mohammed Ali] Najafi, [Minister of Education] came. He complained about the persecution of radicals in the Majlis. He appealed to speed up the approval of the plan to change the educational system and asked us to support Mr. [Syed Mohammad] Khatami, [Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance], who is at odds with the radicals.

Mr. Mehdi Tajer came. He had opinions about the situation in the region. He wanted a plan to preserve the Shiites and give them power in the region. Dr. [Hadi] Monafi, [Head of the Medical System Organization] came. He gave a report on the trip and the state of the medical system and called for the strengthening of the Environmental Protection Organization.

Mr. [Asadullah] Badamchian came. Some of the radicals spoke badly and praised the judiciary and praised the economic policies of the government. Mr. [Mohammed Ali] Sharia, [Syed Ali Akbar] Parrosh, [Syed Reza] Zavarai and [Hasan] Ghafouri Fard came to represent the right wing and consulted and asked for opinions on current issues and disputes and the upcoming elections.

In the evening, Mohsen [Hashmi, head of the presidential inspection office] came. He gave reports and asked for money for our family and personal matters. I did not go to the government meeting. I did the work until eight o'clock at night. Mr. [Syed Mansour] Razavi, [Secretary General of the Administrative and Employment Affairs Organization of the country] came. He complained about the management of today's government meeting.

I came home Efat had gone to Qom for the death ceremony of a relative.
