I was at home. In the morning, I read a report on issues concerning the counter-revolutionaries abroad. At noon, I was informed that Iraq had attacked the Ahvaz rolling mill and Khark Island, causing some damage.

In the afternoon, Mr. Reyshahri [Minister of Intelligence] came. He informed me that a joint plot by Iraq and the counter-revolutionaries to assassinate me and Mr. [Ayatollah] Khamenei had been uncovered, and a decisive blow had been dealt to the minority [Fada'i] guerrillas.
