We had a public session. The bill to convert Niavaran Palace into a guesthouse for receiving high-ranking foreign guests was under consideration. The representatives strongly opposed it and spoke in a slogan-like manner, and it was rejected. I also had several meetings at noon. In the afternoon, I attended a meeting of the Hezbollah representatives of Parliament. I gave explanations about the Tudeh Party and their objectives and some of the material that had been uncovered. I spoke about the state of the war and the fronts in order to calm the excitement and also bring their views closer to the realities. I criticized the representatives for ruthlessly attacking the government and those carrying out its work in their speeches before the agenda and during the debates.
I went to Shahid Motahari Mosque to speak at the ceremony marking the anniversary of Shahid Motahari's martyrdom. It was a good meeting and I gave a lengthy speech. I stayed in Parliament overnight. I read the reports. I wrote an introduction for the new edition of the book The Story of Palestine. Today, four directors-general of Parliament's departments came. They complained about the strictness of Mr. [Morteza] Katirai and Mr. Khoshnevisan, and one of them requested retirement, which I did not accept.
