I did administrative work in my office from eight to ten in the morning. In Mr. [Ayatollah] Khamenei's office, we had a meeting with the IRGC commanders to discuss their plans for the future of the war. After the Badr operation, we assigned them to bring their plan. It seems that they treated it poorly, they had brought long-term plans that will give results in a few years and require huge human and financial resources. We bitterly rejected their plan and I told them that you have to fight with the existing facilities. They rejected the proposal to merge with the army and took the proposal to divide the land between the army and the IRGC for further study.

Mr. Sayad [Shirazi] came at half past three in the afternoon. He did not accept the division of the land and gave explanations about his operation plan. In the evening, we had a board meeting. After the meeting, I raised the problems of the war. The chiefs of Iftar forces were my guests in the parliament. We discussed the war with them. It was decided to approve Sayad's plan, and to force the army to obey, the Imam should be consulted.

A red and quiet situation was announced, but the enemy did not reach Tehran. I slept in the Majlis at night and spent the morning alone. Colonel [Hoshang] Sediq [Air Force Commander] announced the success of the test of the standard missile for use in anti-aircraft defense, which, if complete, would be a turning point.
