A group of current parliament representatives, Mr. [Syed Ali] Awadzadeh, [Shirvan representative], Hadi Ghafari, [Tehran representative], [Sadiq] Khalkhali, [Qom representative], [Nader] Kavousi, [Toisarkan representative], [Syed Abolhasan] Hayrizadeh, [Birjand representative], [Gholamohsin] Aghayi, [Hamadan representative], Barzanji, [Qadir] Sharifzadeh, [Piranshahr representative], [Qasem Mehrzad] Sedkiani, [Salmas representative], [Mashallah] Heydari Moghadam, [Dolfan and Al-Shatter representative] and [Hussein] Najafi, [Khaf representative] whose competence was rejected in the executive committee, came to seek help and solve the problem. Everyone considers themselves oppressed and everyone spoke. I told them to file a complaint so that I can follow up.
Mr. [Mahdi] Karroubi and Mr. [Syed Mohammad] Mousavi Khoyini came and expressed their concern about the election process. They believe that an atmosphere has been created in which the government wants to eliminate their faction. They say that under the influence of this atmosphere, the executive boards have taken action to remove them. They are worried that in the next stages, the supervisory boards and the parliament itself will remove more people. They want me to take action for treatment. They gave me the copy of the letter they wrote for the leader. They said there that if this situation is not corrected, the Assembly of Militant Clergymen will not participate in the elections. I told them to speak from a position of compassion and not threaten to withdraw.
In the evening, I attended the meeting of the government board. The election and monitoring report was given by [Abdullah Nouri], Minister of the Interior, and the report on the mediation situation in Karabakh was given by Dr. Velayati, [Minister of Foreign Affairs]. Regarding the problem of this mediation, we had some discussion regarding the expectation of the people of Azerbaijan that Iran will support Muslims against Armenians and that if they side with Azeris, the opportunity for mediation will be lost and Armenians will be supported by Westerners and especially America. I came home after breaking the fast. Relatives and children were our guests.
