Regarding Palestine, contrary to Algeria's view, I said we could be very serious on the various fronts; fundamentally, Israel is a danger to Islam and the region, and it concerns all of us. The Algerians, considering the conciliatory approach of some Palestinians, justify their own conduct by saying that we cannot be more Palestinian than the Palestinians themselves. News arrived that the Iraqis, in the Nowruz area of the Persian Gulf, had sunk a small Ministry of Oil vessel and ten employees of the Oil Company, and had set two wells on fire, which were still burning. The Oil Company is trying to obtain equipment to extinguish the fire. Usually, to put out these wells, they used to bring in experts from abroad, but the Ministry of Oil claims it can extinguish them itself, provided defensive cover is ensured.
