The bill setting a deadline for the President to sign Parliament’s resolutions was under discussion. The liberals had backed down and did not oppose it.
At noon, female seminary students and university students from Shiraz, and students from the Islamic Association of Bijar, met with me in the Parliament library. They are genuine Hezbollahis.

In the afternoon, we attended a meeting of the Political Bureau at Mr. Beheshti’s workplace. All the discussions revolved around how to deal with the current situation—which had arisen because of Mr. Bani-Sadr. We are spending a great deal of our valuable time on these disagreements. May God have mercy on us.
At night, I attended a consultative meeting of the three branches of government at the Prime Minister’s Office. Dr. Arefi, the Minister of Science, was also there, and we discussed the Cultural Revolution Headquarters and the reopening of the universities. Dr. Arefi believed that the Headquarters had not done anything fundamental, and Mr. Bahonar had no satisfactory answer either. It was decided that next week, with all sides participating, we would make a clear decision regarding the universities.
News came that Bani-Sadr was preparing to leave the country, and apparently, two people from his office had been arrested in connection with this.
Today, Mr. Bani-Sadr remained in Kermanshah and held a secret meeting with the Sanjabi tribesmen. It is not clear what they intend to do.
Late at night, news came of the martyrdom of a number of Revolutionary Guards and Army personnel around Mahabad, which deeply affected us. Inside Tehran, the Hezbollahis have narrowed the space for the counter-revolutionaries and Bani-Sadr supporters to carry out disruptive activities. The Communist Party, the Ranjbaran, and the Mojahedin-e Khalq supported Bani-Sadr and called for a demonstration. The Coordination Office, with the support of these groups, failed to accomplish anything, and no one participated except people from the groups themselves.
