At the public session, we discussed correcting the points raised by the Guardian Council in its objections to the provisions of the bill to abolish the “Imperial Decree” and the bill establishing the War-Affected Foundation.

At the public session, we discussed correcting the points raised by the Guardian Council in its objections to the provisions of the bill to abolish the “Imperial Decree” and the bill establishing the War-Affected Foundation. The Rules of Procedure are ambiguous on this matter. With difficulty, we managed to put it on the agenda, and it took up the entire session today. The Guardian Council’s objections were very minor and insignificant. I wish such things would not occur in the future.

At noon, a group of Arab poets and orators from Khuzestan came to meet me. They were leaving for Arab countries to promote the Islamic Revolution. They sang a hymn and gave some speeches. It was interesting. I also spoke to them, emphasizing the precedence of Islam over race and language and the unity of Muslims. There are some problems in their work that they asked me to resolve. There are many of them; I do not know who is designing the program.

In the afternoon, a group of committed Palestinian Muslim activists came. They had established an Islamic line of struggle for Palestine and were seeking support.

Then I attended a meeting of the Workers’ Unit of the party and spent two hours with them discussing their program. It was interesting. Immediately afterward, representatives of the Islamic Associations of the Welfare Organization came. I spoke with them for half an hour as well. Indeed, how many Islamic forces we have!

Early in the evening, we had a meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office with Ahmad Agha Khomeini and Mr. Rajaei. Ahmad Agha had important matters to discuss.

They are really cooperating: the issue of Chamran’s independent armed group, the issue of Bani-Sadr, and solutions to them. He spoke about the poor welfare conditions in the city of Qom and conveyed the Imam’s recommendation concerning addressing the situation in Qom and that of the war-affected people. He believes that the Imam should deal with Bani-Sadr explicitly.

At night, at the invitation of Mrs. Azam Taleghani, I attended a family gathering of the Taleghani family at her brother’s home. There was a great deal of discussion.
