One of the representatives came and reported on another representative's campaigning for Mr. [Mohammad] Yazdi's presidency; I said it was not important. At noon, Mr. [Mohammad-Mahdi] Pourgol [representative of Bandar Anzali] came and spoke about progress in restoring the Anzali wetland and about corruption in the fisheries department, which he is pursuing through a question.
In the afternoon, Mr. [Gholam-Ali] Haddad Adel came and gave a report on the state of the Ministry of Education's textbooks. He consulted about economic discussions. I mentioned the complaint of the Friday prayer leader of Paveh about a book in which Sunni leaders had been insulted. He said that they had included part of Mr. Jalaleddin Farsi's writings in the book History of Islam; recently, we have banned it.
Mr. [Mohammad-Hassan] Zorq [political deputy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting Organization] came and complained about the obstruction and agitation by his opponents. I reassured him and urged him to resist; it had an effect. Mr. Hadi [Najafabadi] came and informed me of the existence of their thirty-person meeting, which I had already known about, and consulted with me. Mr. Karimi, acting head of the Foundation for War Victims, came and complained about the representatives from Khuzestan on the Article 90 Commission, for accusing him of violating the law.
