Memoirs of Akbar Hashemi – June 11, 1983

I was at home all the time and mostly reading. Before noon, Mr. [Gholamhossein] Karbaschi, the governor of Isfahan, came and was concerned about the danger of disputes in Isfahan, which had led to the weakening of Mr. [Jalal al-Din] Taheri [Friday Prayer Leader of Isfahan] and, in his words, the weakening of Ayatollah Montazeri, and he wanted help in resolving the problem. I said they should approach Messrs. [Ghorbanali] Dori-Najafabadi and [Mohieddin] Fazel-Herandi, who could help in this regard on our behalf.

Mr. [Abu'l-Hasan] Shirazi, the Friday Prayer Leader of Mashhad, came and emphasized the land bill and Article 49. The Friday Prayer Leader of Shirvan also came to the house and spoke about the activities of the Hojjatieh Association and also about a new tape by Mr. [Mahmoud] Halabi, who had denied the qualifications of anyone other than the infallible Imam for some of the ongoing affairs of the Revolution.

Mother and my sister Fatemeh, who had returned from visiting [Hazrat Zaynab (PBUH) and Hazrat Ruqayyah (PBUH)] in Syria, spoke about their trip. In the afternoon, Mr. [Abdolmajid] Maadikhah came, and it was decided that bylaws would be prepared for the «Foundation for Writing the History of the Revolution», with him as head of the foundation, and that he would give up going abroad. Amir Araqi [son of the martyr Mehdi Araqi] came and complained about the work of the Foundation of the Oppressed. Mrs. Morvarid and Effat's relatives were our guests. The proposal of the president of South Korea for a high-ranking Iranian official to travel to Korea to negotiate about weapons arrived.
