Memoirs of Akbar Hashemi – July 10, 1993

[Mr. Seyyed Abulfazl Mousavi Tabrizi], the Attorney General of the country came. He gave a full report and asked for help for the development of kindergartens for orphaned children whose guardians are in prison.

[Mr. Mehdi Karbasian], the head of the Social Security Organization, came. He gave the income, expenses and investment report and requested for the reform of the administrative structure. Abbas, the son of Mr. Mohadi Kermani, came. I greeted some of their family. It is in the business of export and import. He asked for help to establish a center on Khark Island to collect oil mixed with water obtained from washing ships.

Dr. Hashemi [Golpaygani] came for the order of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution and Dr. [Hasan] Habibi, [First Vice President], came for current affairs. Mehdi and Mohsen came in the afternoon. In the evening Mr. Nurbakhsh, [Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance] came with his deputy Mr. [Parviz] Davoudi. They gave explanations about economic research plans. These plans are being researched in collaboration with universities.

Mr. [Gholamreza] Farozesh, [Minister of Construction Jihad] came and asked some questions in order to clarify his position in the future cabinet; Razi went away. He complained about those who have unfounded objections.

Dr. [Reza] Malekzadeh, [Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education] came. He also had a question about the future cabinet and expressed his desire to deal with scientific work. [Mr. Abdullah Nouri], the Minister of Interior came. He gave a more complete report on the elections and we discussed the future and the second plan. I stayed in my office at night.
