In the evening, I had a lesson on the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Major Tarabi came from the [army] consulting office and a report from the navy and air force
Early in the morning I went to Parliament. I presided over part of the public session, handed it over to Mr. [Mohammad] Yazdi, and came to my office to take care of work. Around noon I had several meetings. In the afternoon I taught a class on the positions of the Islamic Republic Party. Major Torabi from the [Army] Advisory Office came and gave a report on the Navy and Air Force. After the Maghrib prayer, Mr. [Abolfazl] Tavakkoli [Bina], the head of the Hajj, came and complained about [Seyyed Mohammad Khatami], the Minister of Islamic Guidance. One of the officials from the IRGC Intelligence came and asked about the decision regarding the Tudeh Party and gave a report.
At night I attended a meeting with the President and Mr. [Mohammad Mehdi] Rabbani Amlashi. We discussed the Imam's decision regarding the [Supreme] Judicial Council and replacing the Prosecutor General. Mr. Rabbani is upset. Today he wrote a letter to the Imam. The prayer leader of the Shiites of Detroit, America, came to see me and spoke about the meetings of Islamic figures with Carter during the American hostage crisis and the defense he had made of Iran. He gave me a book of his writings; he seems to be an enlightened scholar.
