Yasser was making excuses to go skiing; I sent him to the cable car with Mr. Rahmani, the bodyguard. In the afternoon, Ahmad Agha came and spoke about the improvement in Sadegh Tabatabaei's situation in a German prison thanks to unofficial assistance from the Foreign Ministry. Late at night, he called and said that the Imam was listening to the Friday prayer sermons and had said to emphasize that greater stress should be placed on piety. The Imam has repeatedly given this reminder and has even raised it publicly in speeches to the people. But today I had specifically emphasized it by quoting a sentence from Imam Ali (PBUH): (وَ اَمُرْهُ بِتَقَوىَ اللّه); apparently the Imam did not notice this part. Mr. [Ahmad] Tabatabaei also came at night regarding the subdivision of the house, which we had bought jointly from Mr. Khanian years before the Revolution, and whose subdivision has run into difficulties. We have no other land in Tehran to prepare homes for the children, and homes must be provided for them.
