Memoirs of Akbar Hashemi – January 2, 1983

I was at home until nine o'clock. Mr. Vafi's daughter, who was supposed to be called by the imam, came to our house with Mr. Daa'i's nephew. Waiting for the opportunity. Fati stayed to receive him. The children went to the Alborz mountains with Saeed for the opening ceremony of the resort's cable car. I also went to the Imam's house to participate in the meeting of Friday imams and groups and personalities on the birth of the Prophet (pbuh) and Imam Sadiq (pbuh). In Hosseinieh [Jamaran] Imam Juma of Kenya and President and Imam spoke. I came home around noon.

Mr. [Mousavi] Ardabili said that the headquarters [following the Imam's eight-point order] is of the opinion that the head of the court should be removed because of Rafsanjan's recent issues. Nahar Ashikh Muhammad Hashemian came to our house and two or three people from Nuq, one of whom was wounded in the war.

In the evening, I participated in the opening session of the Congress of Friday Imams and Congregations and gave a detailed speech on the achievements of the [Islamic] Revolution of Iran.  Earlier, I was supposed to talk about the Friday prayer, because this analytical discussion was more necessary, so they asked me to take it on. The audience gathered around me and took pictures. The president is having dinner at the hotel. I did not stay because I had work. I returned home at night. Mr. Hossein Hashemi Nasab, whose son is detained in Rafsanjan, came and complained to Ashikh Mohammad Hashemian that he does not consider the nation and family.
