We went to the Saadabad lawn area and flew to the shrine by helicopter. On the way, Ahmad Agha conveyed from Mr. [Mohammad] Abayi [Khorasani, Head of the Islamic Propagation Office in Qom] that the Supreme Leader had said that some extreme individuals should not be in the Propagation Office; he had complaints about that directive. I led the Friday prayer and we returned together. I reached home at one thirty in the afternoon. Some of the children were here.
In the evening, Dr. Velayati, [the Foreign Minister] came. He reported on the trips to Cyprus and Turkey. Discussions were held regarding the [Non-Aligned Movement] and the work programs of the ECO Organization leaders which are planned to be held in Tehran and about the recognition of the republics that separated from Yugoslavia.
