From six to nine in the morning, I did the remaining work and had breakfast with modesty. The guards had bought Halim for breakfast. Mr. [Sidas Ismail] Mousavi and [Hadi] Barik Bin, the Friday imams of Zanjan and Qazvin came. They complained about the governor's aggression towards the officials. They asked me to travel to the province. Mr. Barik Bin wanted to become a province of Qazvin and Mr. Mousavi was against it.

Mr. [Abulfazl] Tawakli Bina came for guild affairs. Timsar [Mansour] Satari, [Army Air Force Commander] came. He expressed his readiness to provide radar coverage to all the planes crossing and landing in the country and asked for help in facilitating the formal affairs of the foreign commercial flights of Nahaja [= Army Air Force]. The Joint Staff [of the armed forces] is delaying.

The Supreme Administrative Council had a meeting. The issue of transferring the Social Security Organization to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs or its division was raised, but we did not reach a conclusion. I did the work in the evening and at night and revised the draft of my speech in the parliament to present the budget.

Dr. [Ali Akbar] Velayati, [Minister of Foreign Affairs] came. He gave the report of the trip to the Soviet Union and the Muslim republics. He said that Gorbachev had become weak and powerless and [Boris] Yeltsin was crude and arrogant. Islamic republics are demanding and in need of developing relations with Iran.

Mr. [Hassan] Habibi, [Mohsen] Noorbakhsh and [Masoud Roghani] Zanjani came and brought the currency budget amendment; I approved it with some amendments: it is about 22 billion dollars. I came home it is raining
