Memoirs of Akbar Hashemi – August 15, 1993

At eight in the morning, I went to the parliament to start the discussion about the proposed cabinet. I gave a short speech in praise of the cabinet's judgment and good mention of the ministers who left the cabinet, and praised the new ministers and expressed satisfaction with the performance of the ministers who remained in the cabinet. I returned to my office. We had deleted the meetings to listen to the statements of the opposition and the supporters of the parliament.

I rested until the evening, for the sake of my recovery, I listened to the deliberations of the parliament and did the office work. Their discussions were friendly and the opponents were less than the supporters, but the order of the discussions was not good. First, the supporters spoke one after the other, and in the evening, the opponents' objections were unanswered by the representatives themselves, which is against the current procedure of the parliament. Part of it was probably planned, because the stronger opposition had been arranged for last. I came home at night.
