Memoirs of Akbar Hashemi – April 28, 1982

I stayed at home until half past ten. I played sports, studied and wrote my remaining memories. Mr. [Sheikh Mohammad] Hashemian came and gave a report about the situation in Rafsanjan and said that everything is fine and on the way.

Mr. Ahmad Agha came and gave a report of his negotiations with Mr. [Ahmed] Abbasi, the son-in-law of Mr. Shariatmadari, and said that today he was taken to Qom to meet Mr. Shariatmadari.

Mrs. Shaheed Motahari came and requested to issue the Imam's message for the anniversary of Mr. Motahari's martyrdom and to meet with the Imam, which I told Ahmad Agha.

At eleven o'clock in the morning, I went to the parliament to participate in the meeting of the charter commission. To the new charter, several objections have been taken by the Guardian Council, which we discussed for amendment; It didn't end. I was fined fifty tomans for being late.

In the evening, a group of representatives of students' Islamic associations came and I gave a lecture to them about the management of universities and the conditions of students and professors. 

On the first night, a group of IRGC commanders came to the cities to protest the IRGC's constitution, which is on the parliament's agenda, but they did not have anything important to say. They were satisfied in the discussion and it was decided to leave the tape of the conversation for their comrades who went to Qom to seek help from Ayatollah Montazeri. I slept in the parliament at night. Mr. [Mohammed] Mousavi Khoeniha disclosed part of the documents of the spy nest about Mr. Shariatmadari on TV.
