Complete Daily Record:

Mr. Massoud Roghani Zanjani, the former head of the Organization of Planning and Budget, and Dr. Mohammad Tabibian, an economist, visited. They presented several economic problems and offered suggestions for resolving these issues. They mentioned government mismanagement, lack of investor confidence, and the low liquidity among industrialists as examples of existing problems. Mr. Roghani criticized the pressures exerted by oversight agencies on institutions and managers, citing several inspections from the Office of Leadership and special inspections by the President's office and the General Inspection Organization regarding the payment made to him by the Zanjan Copper Company.

Mr. Morteza Faheem Kermani, a former representative from Kerman, also came to discuss his situation and work. He shared insights regarding the management issues within the Kermani school.

Mr. Yevgeny Primakov, the former Prime Minister of Russia and leader of the Motherland Party, visited along with several members of the State Duma. They discussed the necessity for greater cooperation between Iran and issues related to the Caspian Sea and Afghanistan. He stated that the Russian people regard you as the founder of Iran-Russia relations, noting that Russia's economic problems are improving with rising oil prices. However, the issue of Chechnya remains a longstanding wound, and the threat from Afghanistan, particularly due to the presence of the Taliban and Osama bin Laden, is significant. He expressed concerns about extremist Wahhabis posing risks in the region, Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Kosovo. He extended an invitation for me to visit Russia.

In the afternoon, Mohsen, the Managing Director of the Islamic Revolution Publishing Office, proposed establishing a Quranic College within the center for documentation, library, and museum in Rafsanjan, which I accepted. He noted that the number of visitors to the museum had reached 2,400 last Friday.

Later, Saeed Khaled Al-Hassan, the Secretary-General of the International Union of Islamic Workers, arrived. He provided a report on global labor issues and mentioned plans to hold an international conference to advocate for Palestinian rights, seeking my consultation. He is the son of the late Mufti of Morocco.

The organizing committee for the commemoration of Martyr Motahari arrived. Sheikh Mahmoud Mohammadi Iraqi, the head of the Islamic Propagation Organization, reported and requested that I dedicate time to clarify Islamic teachings for the younger generation and fill the void left by Martyr Motahari. I gave a brief speech to them.

Conflicts in Palestine continue. In the Philippines, unrest and clashes have erupted following the arrest of former President Joseph Estrada.
