The ongoing disagreements between the conservative and reformist factions regarding the perpetrators of the assassination attempt on Saeed Hajarian continue.

Hashemi's New Year visits are ongoing, during which he has made interesting remarks, including those regarding supporters of a complete recount of votes in the sixth parliament of Tehran.

A report by Attaollah Mohajerani and Seyfollah Dad discussed films that Ayatollah Khamenei had criticized, although Hashemi did not mention their names. Their response indicated that the report sent to the Supreme Leader was one-sided and incorrect, similar to the report on the status of the free trade zone in Kish (mentioned in previous entries).

The disagreements between the conservative and reformist factions regarding the assassination attempt on Saeed Hajarian have escalated into a serious conflict involving the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps), the Ministry of Intelligence, the judiciary, and even the Revolutionary Court and Tehran's General Court.

It is worth noting that what has been reported so far about this case indicates that the individuals involved in the assassination attempt on Saeed Hajarian include: Saeed Askar, who shot Hajarian; Pourchalou, a cleric and active member of Basij in Shahr-e Rey who also ran a martial arts club and was identified as Askar's accomplice; Mehdi Raghni, who was a representative of the Guardian Council during the recount of votes in the sixth parliament; and Moghaddami, who stopped Hajarian in front of the city council building by handing him a letter. Additionally, Maqsoudi sold weapons to those involved. It must be acknowledged that even now, after all these years, the complete dimensions of this case remain unclear.

The repercussions of Ayatollah Khamenei's harsh remarks during his speech in Mashhad continue.

Today, like yesterday, my morning was spent on New Year visits, and staff from the Expediency Discernment Council also came. In today's meetings, discussions focused on oil prices and production levels due to an upcoming OPEC meeting that is expected to increase production. There is a risk of falling oil prices because of increased production from Iraq and Mexico.

The good rainfall during Nowruz has pleased managers and especially farmers. Members of the Guardian Council also discussed the recounting of ballots in Tehran during their visit; some are in favor of a complete recount.

I asked Mr. Attaollah Mohajerani, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, and Seyfollah Dad, Deputy for Cinematic Affairs, about this year's films that received criticism from leadership. They stated that the report given to him was one-sided and incorrect, similar to the report on Kish's free trade zone situation.

The disagreement between the two factions regarding the affiliations of Saeed Hajarian's assailants is at its peak and was part of discussions during meetings. Exposés by state media have angered reformists from the Second Khordad Front, who deny any affiliation with certain individuals. It seems they were active in favor of them during elections in Shahr-e Rey, where Saeed Askar's father was head of education and central to their activities. Numerous rumors are being fueled from both sides.

The reflection of Khamenei's speech in Mashhad and his explicit attacks on America have upset both government officials and reformists; however, it cannot be denied that U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright also bears some blame for her disrespectful remarks towards Khamenei and Iran's Islamic system.

Today’s talks between Syrian President Hafez al-Assad and U.S. President Bill Clinton in Geneva were declared unsuccessful, resulting in a stalemate in negotiations between Syria and Israel.

Vladimir Putin's victory in Russia’s presidential election is noteworthy.

Yesterday, Efat and Yasser went to Bam, and today Fati and Mehdi went there.
