A meeting took place with Bijan Namdar Zangeneh, the Minister of Oil, to report on negotiations with Japan regarding investments.

Full Entry of the Day:

In the morning, the Infrastructure Commission of the Expediency Discernment Council held a session. The discussion focused on new financial resources for the housing sector. Although it is clear that current resources are insufficient to meet the sector's needs, negotiations did not reach a definitive outcome. The proposal from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development suggested that private sector resources be utilized similarly to mobile services, without affecting the share of facilities on the accounts, with repayment being staggered and several other pathways.

In the evening, Mr. Eshaq Jahangiri, Minister of Industries and Mines, along with Mr. Hossein Marashi, the representative from Kerman, and Mr. Hossein Rezai, the head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, visited. They requested serious action to secure Mr. Abdollah Nouri's release from prison and cited examples of his family issues, including the severe distress of his father and wife. Dr. Ahmad Milani-Nia also visited and provided dietary recommendations due to elevated blood sugar levels.

Today, Israel has seized parts of Gaza and the West Bank, and Yasser Arafat, the President of the Palestinian Authority, has urged the public to intensify their actions in the Intifada. U.S. President Bill Clinton expressed concern over the impasse in peace negotiations. In Ivory Coast, following a period of public protests, the president has fled, and a new leader has taken control, a situation reminiscent of that in Yugoslavia.

Minister of Oil Bijan Namdar Zangeneh reported that an agreement has been reached with the Japanese regarding their investment in the development of the Azadegan oil reservoir. It appears that Japan has encountered difficulties in its oil cooperation with Saudi Arabia and is seeking alternative sources to meet its energy needs.
