As usual, we departed for my office at seven-thirty in the morning. It was snowing in Jamaran. From Shahid Bahonar Street to the Sadra Highway, there was a mix of snow and rain, and from there to the office, it was light rain. Before noon, I had an interview with the media regarding the concept of jihad and defense in Islam, the nature of the Prophet's and Imam Ali's wars, the Palestinian conflict, and the imposed war by Iraq on Iran.

In the afternoon, Mr. Mohammad Vaez-Zadeh Khorasani, the head of the Unity of Islamic Religions Assembly, visited. He provided a report on the congress of Ayatollah Seyyed Hussein Boroujerdi and Sheikh Mahmoud Shaltout, the founders of Dar al-Taqreeb, and requested my participation in its opening in Qom. I suggested that it would be preferable to utilize scholars from Qom. He praised my recent Friday sermon.

During Iftar, the staff of the Strategic Research Center, along with their families, were my guests. Efat had also come and was upset about an interview that Mr. Ali Motahari, the son of the martyr Motahari, had conducted with Kayhan, in which he made false claims about our family. She made a phone call to Mrs. Motahari to express her objections, and a response was prepared for that.

Later, I had a discussion with Dr. Hassan Rouhani, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council. He mentioned his meeting with the Leader and spoke about the country's problems, particularly capital flight, brain drain, and duality in management. However, he did not receive any results for reform paths. Regarding his discussions with Mr. Khatami, he said that despite all the problems, Khatami expressed that he does not wish to run in the elections but is concerned that if he steps down, he may be pursued.

In the reports, the issue of Ayatollah Montazeri's memoirs is significant; he acknowledged writing his memoirs and distributing them in limited form but denied their existence on the Internet, stating that individuals had taken them out illegally. There were also reports of conflicts in Lar, the birthplace of Mr. Abdul Vahed Mousavi Lari, the Minister of Interior, where people protested against the governor and the Minister of Interior, resulting in two reported fatalities due to police intervention.
