Request from Javad Tabatabai in a Meeting with Hashemi for a Reduction in His Overdue Bank Loan Penalties

Full Entry of the Day:

I spent most of my time at home, engaged in study and rest. To lead the Friday prayer, I went to Tehran University. I delivered a sermon about envy and another addressing current affairs of the week, including the Basij forces, the Navy, martyr Seyyed Hassan Modarres, the economic situation, the recession, the U.S. elections, and the Al-Aqsa Intifada.

In the afternoon, Javad, the son of the late Agha Aziz Tabatabai (my wife's cousin), visited me. He expressed his distress over his debts to the National Bank, which have become problematic, and sought assistance in resolving the issue.

The matter of activating the oil pipeline from Iraq to Syria and Iraq's warning regarding the possibility of halting oil exports in protest against UN sanctions is noteworthy. The Al-Aqsa Intifada and the U.S. elections continue to receive attention from global media. Russia has rejected the U.S. warning regarding arms sales to Iran, stating that it will continue its policy. In Pakistan, Anwar Ali Akhoundzadeh, Secretary-General of the Shia Movement, was martyred by radical Wahhabi elements from Sipah-e-Sahaba.
