Putin's Warning to the U.S. Regarding Star Wars, Common Stance of Russia and the European Union

We spent the entire day at the headquarters, dedicating all our time to studying bulletins and books, and editing the fourth part of my interview with the magazine *Hokoomat-e Eslami*. Mohsen returned to Tehran. As usual during trips, I read the special news reports on the computer via phone.

[Vladimir Putin], the President of Russia, warned the U.S. in Berlin that the plan to establish a missile defense shield — the Star Wars program — would plunge the world into crisis and a new Cold War. The European Union had previously announced its opposition to this U.S. action, and in practice, Russia and the European Union have reached a common stance against the U.S. defense policy.
