The account of Hashemi regarding the success of the Sharm El Sheikh summit and the agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority contains significant insights.

Farewell to the German Ambassador and Hashemi's recommendations to him.

Meeting with Sheikh Abbasali Alizadeh, Chief Justice of Tehran Province, along with Mohammad, Head of the Special Office of the Judiciary, discussing judicial, political, and press matters, and expressing grievances about the Ministry of Intelligence’s lack of cooperation regarding the case of the Office for Consolidating Unity in Khorramabad. In previous entries, it was noted that Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, as the head of the Inspection Organization, sent a different report to the judiciary and requested Hashemi's and other influential figures' support for this report, as well as for the Friday Imams in their sermons. Unfortunately, the editor of Hashemi's memoirs has again made an error by confusing Mohammad, who was accurately referenced by Hashemi as the head of Seyed Mahmoud Hashemi Shahrudi's office, with Gholamali Mohammadi, the current head of the Prisons Organization, who was the Judicial Deputy of the Prisons Organization in 2000.

The meeting with Amir Tehrani, the then Legal Deputy and Parliamentary Affairs of the Ministry of Intelligence, accompanied by Dr. Marzieh Vahid Dastjerdi, is particularly interesting, especially regarding his political proposals concerning Seyed Mohammad Khatami and the intriguing account of his cousin, Dr. Mohammad Isfahani, who is the son of the then Governor of Isfahan, Dr. Mohammad Ali Vaez.

Today's more significant meeting was dedicated to the discussion with Sheikh Mojtaba Tehrani and Sheikh Ghorbanali Dori Najaf Abadi, who, after being dismissed from the Ministry of Intelligence, took over the presidency of the Administrative Justice Court, and their noteworthy perspectives regarding the reformist government and its leader.

Full Entry of the Day:

Contrary to expectations, it was announced that the Sharm El Sheikh summit had successfully brokered an agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, but the people, groups, and parties involved in the Intifada rejected it and protested against it. Negative reactions were also expressed in many Islamic countries, including Iran. Mr. Klaus Zeller, the German Ambassador, came for a farewell visit, having spent only two years in Iran before retiring at the age of 65. He mentioned that his wife is Filipino and that a university in the Philippines has invited him to collaborate. I suggested that the European Union should publicly address the injustices of the past in favor of the Palestinian Intifada and separate its stance from that of the United States; he expressed that the Intifada would be prolonged.

Mr. Abbasali Alizadeh, the Chief Justice of Tehran, came with Mr. Gholamali Mohammadi, Deputy to Seyed Mahmoud Hashemi Shahrudi, the Chief Justice. They discussed the reformists’ plans to establish new newspapers; over a thousand new applications have been submitted to convert weeklies into dailies and to nationalize provincial publications, enjoying financial and political support from government officials. They requested the Expediency Council's opinion regarding the judiciary's exemption from the parliament's inquiries by providing them with the minutes of the council’s discussions. They complained about the Ministry of Intelligence not cooperating with them in the case concerning the events in Lorestan.

In the evening, Amir Tehrani from the Ministry of Intelligence, along with Dr. Marzieh Vahid Dastjerdi, visited. Dr. Dastjerdi expressed her family's deep respect and affection for us and suggested that the right-wing should refrain from nominating a candidate against Mr. Seyed Mohammad Khatami in the upcoming presidential election to reduce the pressure on him and lessen specific biases. She mentioned that Mohammad Isfahani, the son of the late Dr. Mohammad Ali Vaez, has become a pop singer.

Later that evening, I hosted Sheikh Mojtaba Tehrani and Sheikh Ghorbanali Dori Najaf Abadi. Sheikh Tehrani believes that Mr. Khatami and the reformists have weakened religion, and the situation will worsen. He views his continuation in the future as contrary to religious principles and criticized the leadership for approving the annulled elections in Tehran. He appreciated my positions and stated that today, the supporters of the revolution and Islam recognize your management and lament the past. I stayed in my office and worked until midnight.
