Following Abdullah Jassbi's concerns about pressures on Azad University; a visit by Mohammad Ali Keynejad, the then-secretary of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution, and his advice to Hashemi to remind Jassbi to fully and precisely comply with the university's charter.


A visit by Heydar Lotfian, the then-commander of the Law Enforcement Force, in the final days of his service as commander, and his request for the Expediency Discernment Council's expedited assistance for major police policies.


Continued consultations with Ali Larijani regarding the press and the Council's resolution on Article 76 of the Constitution (details of which were published separately in Abdi Media) and the murder of Colonel Hossein Borbor (details of which are published separately in Abdi Media).

A renewed visit by Ali Larijani, along with Mohammad Reza Bahonar, Ali Hashemi, and Mehdi Hashemi, and an analysis of the possibility of Hashemi's presence in the sixth Majlis (parliament).


The most important part of today's daily entry is the private meeting with Ayatollah Khamenei, where they discussed the resolution limiting the Council's authority in investigation and fact-finding, and Majid Ansari's letter, along with the day's political issues and checking the information provided by Reza Amrollahi about the bitterness of the recent meeting between Seyed Mohammad Khatami and Ayatollah Khamenei.


The Leader said: In the meeting with Khatami, I showed him the newspapers of that day, and by reading the harmful headlines of some of them, I reminded him of the corruption of the deviant press.



Dr. Mohammad Ali Keynejad, the secretary of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution, visited. He presented a report on the work done and the work in progress and requested that in the meeting of the Board of Trustees of Azad University, Mr. Abdullah Jassbi, the president of Azad University, be obliged to fully and precisely implement the charter.


Mr. Heydar Lotfian, the commander of the Law Enforcement Force, and his deputies visited. Each presented a report on their area of responsibility and expressed hope that the Council, by determining the major policies related to them, would facilitate their work; they face confusion and overlap in some areas.


Dr. Ali Larijani, the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, visited. He had some points about the press and the recent resolution of the Council, and the issue of the murder of Colonel Hossein Borbor, which the leftists say was related to antique smuggling, and the Iran newspaper highlighted it today.


In the afternoon, Mr. Mohammad Falah and Mr. Mohammad Mohammadi Sharifzadeh, the director of internal security, from the Ministry of Intelligence visited. They said that in the ministry, a policy of isolating valuable forces in favor of leftists is underway, and they provided explanations regarding the attackers and the case of the assassination of Mr. Saeed Hajarian.


Mr. Masih Mohajeri, the editor-in-chief of the Jomhuri-e Eslami newspaper, visited. He had some points about the audacity of the Second of Khordad newspapers and solutions to address it. Mr. Ali Larijani, Mohammad Reza Bahonar, Ali Akhavizadeh, and Mehdi

Hashemi visited. They said that after reviewing the representatives of the sixth Majlis, they have concluded that half of them support my presidency, and they said that if I decide to accept the presidency, other individuals will be added; I did not promise and said that I need to see the conditions and I have not even decided to go to the Majlis yet.


In the evening, I was a guest of the Leader. We discussed the recent resolution of the Council regarding the deprivation of the Majlis's right to investigate and fact-find regarding institutions under the supervision of the Leader, and the case of the assassination of Mr. Saeed Hajarian, the trials, and the judiciary, the Majlis, the Tehran elections, the Ministry of Intelligence, Mr. Khatami, and the Friday prayer leadership. Mr. Reza Amrollahi, the president of Khaje Nasir Toosi University, had told me today that the recent meeting between the Leader and Mr. Khatami was bitter and had asked me to help them reach a better understanding. I asked, and he said that they did not have a bitter meeting, but they showed him the newspapers of that day, and by reading the harmful headlines of some of them, they reminded him of the corruption of the deviant press.
