[Minister of Interior] Musavi Lari's Anger and Resignation

India's population exceeds one billion, widespread drought from India to Iran, we should think about serious action.

I worked at home until eleven o'clock; finalizing the [book "Karnameh" and] memoirs of 1982. I shut off the water to the pool. I worked in the Koushk office until five in the afternoon. In the evening, I had a meeting at home with Mr. [Alireza] Sheikh Attar; he is the official in charge of election inspection in Tehran on behalf of the Guardian Council. He considers most ballot boxes tampered with. Today, he reported to the Guardian Council meeting in the presence of the Minister of Interior, which angered and insulted [Mr. Abdolvahed Musavi Lari], the Minister of Interior, and he has resigned in protest.

I spent some time reviewing the [book] "Culture of the Quran". It's good; the first volume, starting with the letter "A", is a great work. It seems to me that it should be translated into Arabic as well; it's very easy because it's mostly Arabic.

Today at noon, with the birth of a girl named "Asa", meaning faith, in India, India's population crossed the one billion mark. It is said that India adds about 40,000 people to its population daily, and if this continues, in 50 years, India's population will surpass China's. Meanwhile, this year, a widespread drought has placed India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran in a difficult situation. If these kinds of phenomena recur, we must think about taking serious action.

In Sierra Leone, the crisis has deepened, and four UN peacekeepers who were said to be held hostage by rebels have escaped and provided information. In Sri Lanka, the crisis has also intensified, and the government has declared a state of emergency. Tamil guerrillas say they have reached one kilometer from Jaffna Island.
