Report from Mona Lahouti on her employment as a journalist at Iran Newspaper

Complete Entry:

In the morning, the Subcommittee of the Expediency Council held a meeting. We completed the general communication policies. The armed forces and state broadcasting requested independence, which was not accepted in some cases. I told Dr. Mohsen Nourbakhsh, the head of the Central Bank, to pay attention to the IRGC's requests regarding documentary credits. In the afternoon, I spoke about the threats to the system at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in front of ambassadors and chargés d'affaires. A question-and-answer session was scheduled, which I declined.

I returned home in the evening, where Faizeh had prepared dinner. Mona, Faizeh's daughter, mentioned that she would be going to Iran Newspaper for journalism training. She wanted to conduct an interview, which I declined. After a brief hiatus, the U.S. resumed airstrikes against Iraq, coinciding with the Venezuelan President's visit to Iraq, which was related to oil issues and marked the first visit by a president to Iraq since the Kuwait war.
