Disputes and Incidents Involving Members of the Sixth Parliament with Kayhan Newspaper and Other Daily Matters

Full Text of the Daily Journal:

Mr. Ahmad Jalali, [the ambassador and permanent representative of Iran to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)], came to visit. He criticized the state of management in the country, stating that there is a lack of attention to work, the management atmosphere is politically charged, and there is no focus on global public opinion. He mentioned that at the university presidents' conference in Kerman, he spoke about how to transfer global scientific and technical experiences, but the university presidents paid no attention. One of them said that first, the issue of freedom needs to be clarified, while another sent a poem stating that Mr. Jalali receives a fatwa salary but has no responsibilities, and his opinions come from a privileged position. He suggested that if he were the university president, he wouldn't be allowed to speak like that. He asked me to consider this matter. I replied that I see no way forward except to continue the same constructive policies with a focus on prioritization and production.

Mr. Mohsen Emami, [a relative], came in. He said his poultry farm has gone bankrupt and explained the issues caused by his child's chemical exposure. He requested that he be assigned some work and mentioned that Mr. Mohsen, [the CEO of Tehran Metro], has given him some work at the metro.

Mr. [Mohammad Ali] Zam, [the head of the Islamic Propagation Organization's Art Bureau], visited. He provided a detailed account of the Art Bureau's partnership in owning Persepolis Football Club and the arising disputes with Mr. [Hossein] Mahlouji, [the head of the Persepolis Cultural and Sports Institute], leading to court involvement. He mentioned that Mr. Mahlouji had used my influence and the intervention of the head of the judiciary's office, along with a letter from Mr. [Abbas Ali] Alizadeh, [the head of Tehran's judiciary]. I stated that I was unaware of your disagreement with him, and Mr. Mahlouji did not discuss it with me.

I officiated at the wedding of one of the protection personnel's children. I gave an interview to IRIB regarding untold stories of the war. The dispute between some parliament members and Kayhan newspaper over a harsh and insulting article about the parliament, as well as criticisms from IRIB and some right-wing newspapers against the German government and the parliamentary delegation currently in Iran for interfering in Iran's internal affairs, has gained attention. The dispute between [Bulent Ecevit], the Prime Minister, and [Ahmet Necdet Sezer], the President of Turkey, during the National Security Council meeting and Ecevit leaving the session is also significant.
