Mr. Alireza Nouri, [representative of Tehran], came. He spoke about the condition of Mr. Abdollah Nouri, who has been hospitalized at Tajrish Hospital due to neck arthritis. In the afternoon, Mr. [Ali] Larijani, [Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting], talked about the new propaganda plot against Iran regarding the [Lockerbie airplane bombing], [the bombing of the American base in] al-Khobar [Saudi Arabia], and [the bombing of the Jewish center in Buenos Aires] Argentina.

Mr. Asgari and his colleagues from the Shahid Beheshti Charity Foundation came and gave a report on their relief services to the poor and requested assistance for building a school in the Haft Chenar region.

Mr. [Ali] Fathollahzadeh, the head of Esteghlal Club, came and talked about the importance of Esteghlal and Persepolis clubs and their fans and the possibility of utilizing these emotions to solve social problems.

Mr. [Hossein] Mousavi, [representative of Kerman], also came. He talked about the factions in the parliament and the differences between Participation and the Association of Combatant Clergy.

I was a guest of the Leader in the evening. We talked about the parliament, universities, the press, and the recent propaganda plot regarding Lockerbie. He reported that yesterday, during Mr. [Seyed Mohammad] Khatami's [President] speech in Mashhad, when Mr. [Abbas Va'ez] Tabasi, [representative of the Supreme Leader in Khorasan], was giving his welcome speech, a group of young people chanted slogans against Mr. Tabasi. Throughout the ceremony, there was a lot of applause and whistling in the courtyard of Imam Reza (AS), and after

the ceremony, a large crowd took to the streets and chanted slogans against Mr. Tabasi, as well as general slogans against the regime.
