In continuation, the solution to the issue of electing legal experts for the Guardian Council by the parliament was referred to the Supreme Leader; the election of legal members by the representatives of the Sixth Parliament took place with a fragile majority.

Members of the Central Council of the Independent Student Union and supporters of moderation visited me, stating that they had achieved excellent success at Islamic Azad University over the past two years. However, recently, Mr. Abdullah Jasbi, the president of the university, and particularly Mr. Sayyadi, an advisor to Mr. Jasbi, have been treating them poorly, and they sought assistance.

Dr. Abbas Shibani also came to discuss his proposal for a more conciliatory approach towards the members of the Freedom Movement, expressing concerns about the dire conditions in Khorramshahr due to drought and economic stagnation.

In the evening, I had an interview with the management of the Baqir al-Ulum Political Science Faculty regarding the characteristics of humanity. The parliament conducted a vote today for two legal experts for the Guardian Council based on a decision made by the Expediency Council yesterday. They did not achieve an absolute majority initially; in a subsequent vote, they were elected with a weak relative majority, receiving around 60 votes out of 242, while over 160 votes were blank.

In the Philippines, an agreement was reached between the government and the Abu Sayyaf militant group.
