Full Text of the Daily Note:

I was at home. Dr. Mahmoud Tabatabai [a neurosurgeon and specialist] came by for check-ups and offered recommendations for maintaining my health. He criticized the state of the government, particularly in the health and treatment sectors. Mr. Mohammad Reza Noori Shahroudi visited me. He expressed his criticisms of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, mentioning that Mr. Kamel Kharazi [the Minister of Foreign Affairs] had asked him to travel to Libya to address problems arising after his tenure at the embassy there; however, he declined, stating that such issues cannot be resolved with a single trip. He criticized the government's lack of attention to development issues.

Hassan Agha Khomeini [the custodian of the Institute for the Compilation and Publication of Imam Khomeini's Works] came by. He remarked that the Leader’s upcoming trip to Qom without meetings with religious authorities does not look favorable. It seems there is no plan for such meetings during this trip. He noted that the leftist faction, having failed to contribute to development, is becoming increasingly lost even after the rise in oil prices and the acquisition of a surplus budget of six billion dollars; they are gradually voicing their discontent in private circles and have recognized the value of your government’s development programs and the decisiveness that was employed. He suggested that Mr. [Seyyed Mohammad] Khatami is being pressured to run for the presidential election, although he expresses doubts.

In the afternoon, several relatives were here. The clashes in Palestine continued today, especially during Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque. The pressure from Islamic governments on the United Nations Security Council in favor of the Palestinians is increasing, while the United States has temporarily closed many of its embassies in the Middle East and Africa due to fears of aggressive actions by Muslims. The broadcast of the martyrdom of a young boy alongside his father has stirred emotions worldwide, prompting protests in most American cities, leaving imperialism embarrassed and without a response. In Iran, today there were widespread protests and marches in many cities, with people burning American flags, a significant topic of discussion during Friday prayers.
