Complete Daily Entry:

The president and vice presidents of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences and the representative of the leadership came to visit. They requested that I participate in the opening of the conference titled "Religion and World from the Perspective of Ali (PBUH)," which the university is organizing. They provided a report on the university's status and expressed gratitude for the attention received during the presidency. The university currently has 10,000 students and 600 academic staff.

Mr. Seyyed Youssef Sanaei, head of the Africa Research Center (Kara Research Institute), also visited. He brought research samples and information, requesting assistance. I mentioned that if the government's development policy regarding Africa is implemented, there will be a greater need for his institute.

In the evening, Dr. [Ahad] Milani Nia, the president of the Blood Transfusion Organization, came to discuss his resignation. He expressed his distress over the issues he has encountered in his work at the organization, which led to his decision to resign.

On the border between Lebanon and Israel, there have been limited clashes, and negotiations between [Yasser] Arafat, the President of the Palestinian Authority, and [Bill] Clinton, the President of the United States, have proven unsuccessful. Today, reports emerged claiming that Saddam [Hussein, the President of Iraq] had suffered a stroke, but this was later denied.
