Following the issuance of a directive by Ayatollah Khamenei, interpreted as a governmental decree regarding the Press Law, the Sixth Parliament sought to achieve its objectives through a legal interpretation.

Meeting with professors of Islamic Studies at universities, Hashemi recounted the details of their concerns and requests. Mohammad Hashemi reported on delays in holding the Congress of the Kargozaran Party due to issues among members and other peripheral matters.

A meeting with Mohammad Sadegh Hosseini included an interview addressing parts of the revolutionary history, particularly interesting given his specialization in economics. I hope these questions, if not yet published, will be released.

After the directive from Ayatollah Khamenei, the Sixth Parliament made efforts to interpret the law in a way that served its goals, as noted in Hashemi's daily log. The Guardian Council rejected this interpretation based on the same written letter.

**Full daily entry:**

A group of professors from Islamic Studies departments came to discuss their problems and needs, seeking support. Some of their issues included:

1. Problems with course materials and their outdated nature.

2. Lack of attention from university administrators to the status of these professors, leading to discrimination compared to other disciplines.

3. Most teachers being hired on a contract basis.

4. Expectations from the academic community for these professors to address all issues related to the Islamic Revolution and the indifference of many professors in these matters.

5. A draft bill from the Ministry of Science that weakens the role of Islamic Studies chairs.

6. Their lack of awareness regarding national issues for effective responses.

7. Islamic Azad University prioritizing the employment of its own graduates, even if they are less qualified than other applicants.

8. An imbalance in the previous overemphasis on the role of these professors and current neglect.

It was decided to assist them as much as possible. My brother Mohammad, the head of the Kargozaran Central Council, mentioned that the party congress would be delayed, although both the reformists and the left wing aim to reduce the party's momentum.

At noon, I had lunch with Mohsen, head of the Expediency Council's office and managing director of the Islamic Revolution Publications Office, where we discussed decisions regarding the Council and the publications office.

In the afternoon, Mr. Mohammad Sadegh Hosseini came by. We conducted an interview to clarify ambiguous points in the revolutionary history; he plans to prepare a book. He criticized Iran's inactivity regarding the Intifada of Jerusalem.

Today, the Guardian Council rejected the Parliament's interpretive resolution on the press due to its contradiction with the recent letter from the Leader to Parliament, angering the reformists. The Intifada continues, with several martyrs and dozens of wounded daily.
