Mehrab_Sadeghnia

Following the death of the faithful wife of the venerable Shiite authority, Ayatollah Shabiri Zanjani (Dam Zaleh), messages of condolence were issued by several seminary elders and some political figures. The expressions used in these messages to refer to that wise and pious lady are worthy of attention. The supreme leader of the revolution used the concept of "a noble lady, a dear wife" according to their precision in using words. In his message, Ayatollah Javadi Amoli used the concept of "Karimeh Bayt Marjah Ali Qadr". A tender and loving interpretation that was noticed by many, including the house of Hazrat Ayatollah Azami Shabiri. Ayatollah Nouri Hamadani and Ayatollah Amoli Larijani used the concept of "honorable wife", and Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Seyyed Hassan Khomeini used the concept of "honorable and majestic wife". Concepts that are more compatible with today's world literature.

However, in many condolence messages, the concept of "belonging" is used. For example, today, several official text messages were published by the seminary to invite participation in the funeral, burial, and honoring of that pious lady, in which the word "mutalaqah" which is the feminine form of "mutalaq" was used. In traditional literature, this word is mostly used to refer to the wives of religious scholars. A word that can be annoying in today's world and is a sign of the interpretation of "woman" and "wife" by seminarians. At a time when the seminary and seminarians are subject to judgment and criticism more than ever, it is appropriate to avoid any interpretation that exacerbates the challenge between the seminary and the clergy with the new world. Of course, when I raised this point in the group of some professors and criticized this interpretation, I was accused of "Westernization" and "being influenced by feminist literature"!

Language is a complex cultural phenomenon. It is a mirror that reveals our cultural life and our value system. We live in our language, and our cultural personality and the meaning of the world are hidden under our language: "Man is hidden under the tongue" (Imam Ali, peace be upon him).
so that the man did not speak
Its flaws and art are hidden.

Words are our thought system. We build the world around us by these words. Words should be taken seriously.

I offer my condolences on the passing away of the pious lady, Karima, the supreme authority of Shia Ayatollah al-Uzami Shabiri Zanjani, Lady Hajiya Khanum Majd, and her children and esteemed survivors.
