Robert Gerard Sands, known as Bobby Sands, was an Irish fighter and member of the Irish Freedom Army.

He led the 1981 hunger strike of Irish republican prisoners to protest against their rights. Sands died after 66 days of the strike.

The street on the west side of the British Embassy in Tehran has been named Bobby Sands Street in order to honor him.
